Erasmus+ Programme

Erasmus+ Introduction (One Paragraph)
Erasmus+ is a flagship education, training, youth, and sport program of the European Union designed to support international learning mobility, academic cooperation, and cultural exchange. It enables students, recent graduates, academic staff, and institutions to gain educational and professional experience abroad while strengthening skills, employability, and intercultural understanding. The program covers higher education, vocational education and training, school education, adult learning, and youth activities, offering grants that help participants study, train, teach, or volunteer in another participating country for a defined period.

Erasmus+ Application Requirements
➤ The applicant must be enrolled as a registered student at a higher education institution that holds an Erasmus Charter for Higher Education
➤ The home university must have a valid bilateral Erasmus+ agreement with the host university for the relevant field of study
➤ The applicant must have completed at least the first year of higher education at the time of mobility
➤ Sufficient academic performance is required, usually demonstrated through a minimum GPA set by the home institution
➤ Adequate language proficiency in the language of instruction or the host country language is required, typically proven by internal exams or internationally recognized certificates
➤ A Learning Agreement approved by both the home and host institutions must be completed before departure
➤ The applicant must commit to full-time study abroad for the agreed mobility period, usually one semester or one academic year
➤ Students may receive Erasmus+ funding for a limited total duration per study cycle, including previous Erasmus mobilities

Universities Participating in Erasmus+ (Student-Receiving Institutions)
➤ Erasmus+ is implemented by thousands of higher education institutions across Europe and partner countries, making it one of the largest academic exchange networks in the world
➤ Universities in all European Union member states actively receive Erasmus+ students in undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs
➤ Participating institutions also include universities from EEA countries and associated program countries such as Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein
➤ Many universities in candidate and partner countries cooperate under Erasmus+ through international credit mobility agreements
➤ Public universities, private universities, technical universities, and applied sciences universities are all eligible Erasmus+ host institutions if they hold the Erasmus Charter
➤ Each university defines its own quotas, academic departments, language requirements, and available courses for incoming Erasmus+ students
