Luxembourg Asylum – Eligibility Conditions

➤ An applicant must be outside their country of origin and unable or unwilling to return due to a well-founded fear of persecution

➤ Persecution must be based on at least one of the following grounds
➤ Race
➤ Religion
➤ Nationality
➤ Political opinion
➤ Membership of a particular social group

➤ Serious harm may also qualify under subsidiary protection, including
➤ Risk of death penalty or execution
➤ Torture or inhuman or degrading treatment
➤ Serious and individual threat to life due to indiscriminate violence in armed conflict

➤ Applicants must not have already received protection in another EU country under the Dublin Regulation

➤ The application must be made in person on Luxembourg territory or at the border
